The Black Horse has a renowned reputation serving great food. Eating lunch or an evening meal; grabbing a bite to eat in the bar; dining on the heated garden terrace in the warmer months. No matter when or what you choose to eat with us, we deliver a plate of exceptional food you’ll remember for a long time.

At the Black Horse, you'll find open fires, exposed beams, a wide selection of bitters and the really friendly welcome that only an authentic village pub can offer.

The Black Horse started life at least 350 years ago built as an inn for William Miles, a retired soldier, and his wife Susanah and reputedly once owned by Lincoln College, University of Oxford. It was later converted into a traditional Cotswolds pub and, to this day, remains the heart of the village and a great place to while away a few hours.

Enjoy live music from some of the best local artists; wine tasting evenings; a tasty meal from the bar; or simply sit by the fire soaking up the atmosphere.  It’s a little piece of old England to be treasured.
