The Black Horse has a fantastic reputation as a food destination. Eat lunch or an evening meal; grab a bite to eat in the bar; dine on the heated garden terrace in the warmer months. No matter when or what you choose to eat with us, we guarantee a plate of exceptional food you’ll remember for a long time.
At the Black Horse, you'll find open fires, exposed beams, a wide selection of bitter and the really friendly welcome that only an authentic village pub can offer.
The Black Horse started life at least 350 years ago built as an inn for William Miles, a retired soldier, and his wife Susanah and reputedly once owned by Lincoln College, University of Oxford. It was later converted into a traditional Cotswolds pub and, to this day, remains the heart of the village and a great place to while away a few hours.
No matter whether you’re looking for somewhere to sup a pint of real ale or sip a glass of wine, champagne or gin after a walk in the Cotswolds countryside; or just popping in for a pint on a sunny afternoon, a hearty welcome from the team at The Black Horse is guaranteed.
Enjoy live music from some of the best local artists; wine tasting evenings; a tasty meal from the bar; or simply sit by the fire soaking up the atmosphere. It’s a little piece of old England to be treasured.
